Applying For a Mexican Visa As An Indian

India is not on the list of visa-free countries, so if you wish to travel to Mexico, you need a visa. There are different types of Visas, and they all have different validity and are issued for different purposes. If you want to apply for a business or tourist visa, the application process is one and the same.

Let us take you through the procedure to apply for a Mexico visa online for Indian passport holders.

Documents Preparations

To avoid delays, it is advisable to prepare your documents ahead of time before you apply for a visa. The temporary, permanent, or Mexico tourist visa you wish to apply for will determine the documents required.

Visa Without Renumerative Activities

Business and Mexico tourist visa requirements fall under this category, and holders are not lowed to engage in paid employment once they get to Mexico and all through their stay. Students on a course with a below 6 months duration or invitees of the government or organization have used this type of visa.

Temporary Resident Visa

This visa is different from the above since it can run for up to one year, and then the holder is allowed to work. Work visas and family reunion visas fall under this category. The minimum validity of a temporary resident visa is 180 days, and it can be renewed yearly at least 30 days before the current one expires.

Permanent Resident Visa

This is an extension of a temporary resident visa. The applicant can apply for it after holding a temporary resident visa for the last four years. Those with close family in Mexico and minors can also apply for it.

Book An Appointment

After preparing the documents, the next move is to book an appointment with the consulate in India. Mexico has several consulate offices to deal with the population, so look for one that is closest to where you live. This should be done online.

Note: The Consulate does not grant appointments at a certain period, so if you find the “No office found” notice on the website, this is an indication that there are no appointments available at the time. In such a scenario, all appointments should be scheduled with the CITAS site.

Pay The Application Fee

After attaching your documents to your completed visa application form, you must submit it alongside the application fee of $48 or its equivalent in Indian Rupees. This payment is nonrefundable, and acceptance of this fee by the consulate is not an indication that your application will be approved.

The fee should be paid before you submit your application form and documents and after you have scheduled your appointment. Only payments to the approved Bank account below are accepted via electronic transfer or cash
